What is neutralisation?
A neutralisation reaction occurs when an acid reacts with a base to produce a salt and water.
Acid + Base → Salt + Water
HCl + NaOH → NaCl + H₂O
The pH shifts from acidic to neutral as the base neutralises the acid. Used in antacids, agriculture, and water treatment.
